Positives first: the desktop dock is very well made, feels solid and looks elegant.
It didn't come with any cables, which whilst surprising, was fine with me - I have too many as it is. But the fact should perhaps be mentioned in the description.
Another missing information is that you can't plug it in with any kind of skin on it. That needs to come off, before you can plug it into the dock (a very snug fit).
I have not tested the line out jack, but instructions that came with it state: "Headphones are not recommended to be used with it. Only speakers with external power. That's a bizarre limitation, again, not obvious from the description.
However, the main reason for the low review mark is the fact in the description it's stated: "Unlike other docks, the genuine Samsung Desktop Dock for the Galaxy Nexus has been designed to be used in both portrait and landscape orientations". Well, it's not true. You can only use it in landscape. Phone doesn't plug in portrait orientation and the entire unit will not stand when rotated 90 degrees. This is a massive limitation, and at c. £50, I would not have bought it had I known about it. In fact, I'm still considering returning the item.
