Powered by SMART RP technology, Samsung DVD Recorders provide three different recording options. Users can record programmes on DVD-RAM,DVD-RW or DVD-R discs.

The quality of laser required for recording varies substantially, for instance, a DVD-RAM disc recorded at 2x speed has 14mW~0.2mW power window. If a disc was recorded within this range, then the readability of stored data is optimal. However, if the power quality was irregular, an error could occur while recording and reading the data later. In order to store data accurately, Samsung DVD Recorder employs Precise Reading and Writing Technology realised by Automatic Power Control System, Optimal Power Control System and Write Strategy.

Tilt Compensation - The visual quality of data stored in a DVD disc can be distorted if the disc is crooked. Stored data in crooked discs may not be read correctly due to the irregularity of laser reflection. To improve the readability, Samsung Recorders adopted Tilt Compensation Technology which enhances the readability of data even in crooked discs.

One Touch Recording - the One Touch Recording button on Samsung DVD Recorders makes recording easier than ever. By simply pressing the button, Samsung DVD Recorders automatically search the available recording space on the disc and starts recording the selected programme. Pressing the Recording button once will record up to 30 minutes and pressing twice will record up to an hour. Each time you press the button, Samsung DVD Recorders automatically record an additional 30 minute length of the selected programme. The recording time on a disc is a maximum of 240 minutes depending on the recording mode. Once the recording is completed, simply press the PLAY button. Now the programme that you just recorded will play.

Timer Recording - Timer-recording enables the automatic recording of a favourite TV show when you are not at home. Just set the time and the date of your favorite programmes then the recorder will automatically record your favorite programs.

Quick Dubbing - With the quick dubbing function, data transfer from HDD to DVD Disc is faster than ever. Users can transfer a 2 hour movie from HDD to a DVD Disc within 7.5 minutes with the quick dubbing function. (EP mode only)

Chapter Creator - The Chapter Creator in Samsung DVD Recorder creates chapters when you record your favourite TV shows or video clips from a camcorder onto a DVD Disc. This user-friendly feature creates chapters automatically so you won't need to waste time searching the whole DVD to get to the right spot!

Flexible Recording - When recording, the recorder automatically detects the remaining disc space and sets up the best recording mode. For instance, if you record a 90 minute length program on a single side disc, the recorder sets the recording mode from XP to EP so that the program can be recorded completely without any loss due to disc capacity.

VBR Technology - With VBR (Variable Bit Rate) technology, users can extend the recording time up to 16 hours by selecting the recording mode. For recording images on DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD-R, VBR encoding technology controls the compression rate of MPEG2 at real time and maximizes the disc writing space.

DV Input - With DV Input, users can transfer and record video clips directly from the camcorder into DVD discs. The built-in DV Input enables the digital dubbing from the camcorder to DVD discs by simply connecting the DV cable (IEEE1394).Simple as it is, your valuable images will be stored and preserved forever.
