Got this fella to match me new telly. Obviously the HDMi connection and the 1080 upscaling feature too was a big bonus. The Anyet link means the channel changes as soon it is switched on - just plugged it in and switched on.
I watched Toy Story 3 with the kids and was very pleased with the quality.
A Band of Brothers episode - which has slightly 'earthy' cinematography came across nicely and a few colours my old super cheap £20 player did not pick up. The colour is very vibrant with my TV I will need to amend at the TV as no setting on the player for it. Not toyed with it completeley but I don't think there is a lot in there anyway. It has a USB connection for other media too but the telly has that anyway..
I did not want to go down the route of buying Blu Ray discs as I have loads of DVD's, also the Blu Ray - i feel - is old hat now. Next high capacity media disc is on it's way !!!
It is a budget DVD player so if your after sleek and superior it isn't, it's basic. But then again I have spent wads on your 'top of the range' with interlacing error correcting blurb which throw a wobbler at the slightest mark on a disc.
I never get issues with cheap models reading discs. So yeah happy chap here. Does what I want it to, could have given it 5, but only had it a day!!.
