Enjoy low power consumption and a more efficient battery with Samsung's advanced technology. With this innovative technology, you can enjoy up to three hours of battery life while recording your HD videos. That means you can continuously record your child's football game without missing any of the action while changing batteries. Plus, you no longer have to carry around an extra battery or charger for those shorter trips. (Please note: This feature is available only while using the Continuous Recording mode with a bundled battery.)

The Samsung H300 HD camcorder, with its advanced BSI CMOS technology, adds new light to your videos. The H300 uses a 1/4" 5M (1/6.3" 1.75M effective) Pixel BSI CMOS to deliver improved sensitivity compared to conventional CMOS sensors. By dramatically reducing image noise and distortion and enhancing recording quality during low light conditions, you can capture crystal-clear videos whether you're at a birthday party in a dimly lit restaurant or at home recording your child's first steps.
Don't risk ruining a once-in-a-lifetime memory due to a shaky hand or an inferior camcorder. To help you avoid this, the new Samsung H300 HD camcorder comes fully equipped with their unique OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) Duo feature, an addition that will quickly become your new best friend. The built-in chip automatically adjusts to compensate for even the slightest hand or body movements, resulting in steadier videos. What's more, the OIS Duo is able to maximise the stabilising area while minimizing shaking so you can take crisp videos every time—even while you're walking or moving around.
The Samsung H300 is the first entry-level HD camcorder that comes equipped with a 3" LCD screen. Compared to the standard 2.7" display, the 3" LCD screen is 20% larger which makes it easier to see what you're shooting and capture clean, crisp images that are saturated with natural colour and deep, dynamic detail. Plus, the intuitive LCD touch screen interface makes using the H300 so easy, it's a pleasure.

Get closer to the action with the Samsung H300's 30x Optical Zoom lens. With more valid pixels than any competitor in its class, the 30x Optical Zoom lens lets you see more detail without having to get closer to the action. At 30x zoom, you can be sure that your videos will be clear, crisp, and perfectly captured every time.
When you're shooting, the last thing you want to worry about is adjusting your camcorder's settings to compensate for varying light conditions or image details. Whether shooting landscapes or family portraits, the Q10's intelligent Smart Auto feature automatically selects the best shooting mode to capture video and even stills. Smart Auto has 10 pre-set modes to manage a wide number of different shooting situations such as low lighting, portraits, sunsets, and more. No matter what the conditions are, Smart Auto will help you to take the perfect shot every time.

Capturing the faces of multiple people in the same frame is always difficult. That's why Samsung developed its advanced Face Detection technology. With Face Detection, the H300 is able to accurately detect and recognize up to six faces, ensuring that every facial feature of each person is always in focus.
When shooting a long video, like a football game or a child's play, you may want to take a break for any long pauses or intermission. With the H300's Record Pause feature, you can pause the recording and then pick up right where you left off without creating a new file. This way you only have one file to work with and don't have to merge files for editing, sharing or transferring. Now recording home movies and sharing them with your family has never been easier.
The Samsung H300 camcorder has been designed with an even more compact form by removing the excess space around the display screen hinge. The Samsung H300 also comes with a retractable carrying strap that makes transporting your camcorder more handy and comfortable. This new and improved design is just another example of how Samsung continues to innovate and push the boundaries of camcorder design.
Out of battery? Simply connect your Samsung camcorder to any USB port and it will start recharging. Now you won't have to lug around cumbersome chargers or an extra set of batteries. This intelligent feature gives you the freedom to shoot, share, and recharge from almost anywhere.

An excellent easy to use product,

This review is from: Samsung H300 Full HD Camcorder (30x Optical zoom, 3inch touch LCD) - Black (Electronics)
It's great. I have only had it for 24 hours, but I highly recommend it. The video quality is excellent, the sound quality for a camcorder of its size is good. The screen is a good size and the touch sensitivity works very well. The recording quality in low light is very impressive compared to other video recording devices I own. The only annoying thing is the manual lens cover switch, I can see myself getting used to this however, so don't let it put you off. If you're a techie then this camera will please you in terms of video quality and tweakable features/mode. If you want a simple camcorder then this is it, I took it out of the box put in a memory card and was recording immediately. The zoom is 30x which is fantastic and it holds image quality quite well. The image stabiliser is essential for anybody who is not a professional cameraman, the H300s works very well. I haven't had a chance to test battery life yet, but according to reviews it's very good and better than others of a comparable price and even some of those that are more expensive. The time lapse feature is great, only used it briefly but with customisable settings I have a feeling I will be using it a lot more. My computer (Windows 7 64bit) recognised it straight away and VLC was able to play the videos with no problem. Bear in mind that full HD playback will potentially be stuttery depending on the class of your SDHC card. This is my first camcorder, and I am aware it is the budget end of personal camcorders, but for the average home user I can't understand why you would spend more. This is an excellent camcorder and I doubt you will be disappointed.

Records in HD & SD. Will play back on your computer, although you may need to convert it to windows format first. Which is easy to do, right click with the mouse and the options come up to convert. Once converted of course, you can transfer to disk. Lovely to watch straight onto the tv too, superb quality picture. Basic software comes with it, but this allows you to put music on and cut bits out and even put in some stills. The stills you take with this camera are not brilliant, but adequate. Very easy camera to use, fits into your handbag (sorry chaps). Zoom is brilliant 30x, but recommend to use tripod for this. It's one fall down is getting hold of spare batteries and battery charger. But seeing as how the battery lasts for 3 hours, do I really need this I ask myself. Recharges in about an hour on the camera - at least it comes with a battery from new. Not having a built in memory is not a problem, just get yourself a couple of SD HC cards about 16GB, much cheaper on Amazon too. Very happy with my purchase, would recommend.

Average quality for lower than average price,

I was recommended to buy a Panasonic over the H30 model, but the H300 on Amazon was the same price as the PANA so I believed that it would be an improvement. As it turns out, the reviews on the professional websites have it about right: the quality and functionality of this model make it slightly above a point-and-shoot offering, whereas to step up a class in HD camcorders you're going to have to pay 70-100 GBP more. The H300 is light, it is relatively easy to use. The W-T slider is a little awkward to use, and combined with the record button is really meant for right-handed users. The screen lacks brightness in good Sunlight, making accurate framing difficult on cloudless days - not such an issue in the UK. It does nestle in the palm sweetly, and the battery life is good enough for a days' filming, providing you carry sufficient Gb of storage. Overall - not a bad purchase, if you are likely to be disappointed by this combination of screen definition, usability and zoom, then you really want to be saving up and looking at the higher end hardware - of which there is plenty. Be aware that brands like Sony charge a premium for their name, you will get the same as this model for quite a bit more cash.
