Bought this to replace an old inkjet HP all in one printer, mainly because HP stopped supporting the driver software (let's hope Samsung will be better in this respect). Had it a couple of months now, and very happy with it. It's well built and has all the functions you would want, and for a colour laser is very compact. Looking at the replacement toner costs it's way cheaper per copy than the old inkjet. Just a warning for those switching from colour inkjet to colour laser - the colours won't be as vibrant (with any laser machine), but I knew that before I bought. I mainly print in B&W, with the odd colour graph or table, and it's great for that. Software was easy to install (I have a Mac), and electronic instruction booklet is fine. Only niggle is the LCD display is not backlit, which is a little difficult to see as it's in a dark corner of the office, but I can't imagine this applies to many people, so I've given it the full 5 stars. A colour laser printer for around the £200 mark it's great value.

I purchased this just over a year ago, always had paper feed problems ( 2 sheets instead of one , or paper jams). This machine counts your pages and stops working at 1000, you then have to replace the cartridges ( which are at an extortionate price). With the paper feed problems I got far less than the 1000 pages. It is wrong to go on pages as you could print full pages or just 2 lines on each page and you will still need to replace the toners. My toners were still 1/2 full when they needed replacing. This machine holds you to ransom. The final straw was when I printed off 1 copy the paper wrapped itself around the roller, this in turn broke the gear mechanism so the paper would not come out. The paper started burning and black smoke filled the room. Had to cut the paper out which by now was a charred mess. I contacted J.Lewis from where I bought this machine and they said they had heard of paper jams on this machine before, so I should contact Samsung direct as I was 2 weeks out of my warranty. Samsung did not reply but sent someone to collect this machine 2 days later. Now I have been sent an estimate for £117.00 to repair this machine or £26.00 to return it. Firstly they said out of warranty, then when I argued that it was faulty from the start they said I used the wrong paper or ink. (clutching at straws). Customers services really let this company down.

I am on my second 3305 printer. The first one started off OK and then began to print in a feeble fashion. The printing on my replacement printer is now thin. And this evening I wanted to print a master copy of a catalogue I am publishing and images and text were awfully poor.
I rang Samsung about the first printer and they eventually suggested returning it to them for repair... NO! not when the printer was 2 weeks old. Amazon did the right thing and refunded me. With confidence still in Samsung and thinking that perhaps the first one was rogue, I bought a replacement of the same model. Bad move. I am going to ring Samsung in the morning and tell them that for years I have bought Samsung everything: mobiles, tablet, netbook and what is up with this printer? Will add to this review when I have contacted them.

I bought this printer expecting nice print quality and stable printing overall. Boy, I was wrong! First of all, the quality of print: I guess it's okay for printing text and lighter illustrations and photos that do not require too much detail or quality. If you want to print larger planes of colour, detailed illustrations or photos in high quality, this printer is near-useless. Next, stability: I've never experienced this many paper jams in a home printer before! To illustrate my point, whenever only one piece of paper is left in the paper containter the printer jams - every time! I've also experienced stable problems if the printer is forced to change between paper weights in the middle of a print job. With heavy paper coming in during a job, it will jam and fold the heavier paper.

Not to speak about usability; I'm used to Canon multifunction printers which are quick and easy to set up. I've had the printer for about four-five months now, and I haven't yet succeeded in getting the scanner to work together with my Mac! I tried a few times and don't really bother anymore; I use my old stand-alone scanner instead.

Almost useless product - look further before buying!

I bought a Samsung Clx-3305 printer for my daughter who was going to Uni, as I didn't want her to be hassled with changing inkjet inks continually. However the product has been an absolute nightmare. My daughter stopped using it and brought it back home where its sat in her bedroom.

I thought she may have been harsh about it, but now she's back home for exam study, have found even after using laser printer paper from HP, the printer keeps jamming continuously. Its possible that the HP laser printer was more general purpose but it seems odd that the printer can't take it.

With having to sort out all the jams, I turned upside down what looked like a toner carteridge guide, but it also doubles up as a waste toner container and now its complaining that it needs replacing (because its windows have got dirty fooling the machine into thinking its full). So have ordered a new one, however its not too expensive about £12.

After printer jams, you need to keep resetting the imaging unit as well. its like going from one disaster with this wretched printer to another.

Hence the title of this review - I would still throw this pile of *** away even if someone offered it to me, life is about other things than fixing paper jams.

So do yourself a favour and try find a more reliable printer. Personally I've gone off samsung entirely after this sorry experience.

Update

I've now contacted Samsung over the issues with the printer and they are arranging to pick up the printer and fix it under warranty. They've said there may be an issue with the paper pickup roller. Its probably been an issue since we bought it 6 months back. I guess at moment the only good thing I can say is that their service centre is open on a Saturday and hasn't got premium rate phone numbers.
