Since December 2010 I've installed 4 sets of cartridges at a cost of around £600.
The toner cost is outrageous. The toner cartridges that came with the machine needed replacing in under a month and at £150+ for a set, the cost of consumables is out of control.
Now the info screen tells me that it requires a new imaging unit (another £110 IF I choose to go ahead). The imaging unit was supposed to last 18000 pages but I don't reckon I've printed more than 6000. So I'm not happy!!
Sheets are costing me 10p per page to print and now another consumable is failing to reach its anticipated lifespan.
I raised the issue of toner cost with Samsung. Initially their answer was "nothing to do with us." Now the imaging unit is on its way out, I've written to them again and am currently awaiting a response.

Machine still worked fine after 3 months. Difference of opinion among users about the cost of toner replacements. One set of toner came with the machine (not full cartridges) and lasted about six weeks. I've installed another and find that 5 to 6 weeks for me is about the expectation.
The main reason I moved to laser was that I though that the inkjet cartridge costs were unreasonable. Now I find the laser toner replacements are costing more than double the inkjet cost!!. My advice if your thinking of buying is seriously look into the overall running cost before you buy. The price tag of £300 ish up front is very attractive, but be prepared for the ongoing operational cost.
I, like some other users who have commented, had a bit of a problem with the Wi-Fi from a laptop. I found I needed to uninstall the software and then re-install. That seems to have fixed the issue.

I thought inkjet cartridge costs appeared ludicrous relative to the initial cost of a machine. The ink costs for me were about £250 p.a. Printing rate on my old Lexmark inkjet was frustratingly slow, so I decided to switch to a Laser. I selected the Samsung wireless model, as a 'just in case' but most of what I do is desk-based and so most of the time I don't really use the wireless capability.
On average I print no more than 750 pages a month, mostly text, I'm not interested in printing photos. In the first 6 weeks I rated the machine as excellent. Print quality is very good, the speed (relative to inkjet) is brilliant and I have had absolutely no problem with paper jamming. I do a lot of double-sided printing and so far, re-loading the print tray with sheets that are already printed on one side has been easy and the machine has never picked up 2 sheets.
The scanner is really good and a feature that I will undoubtedly start to use more and more.

Initially we couldn't have been more happy with this printer. When hardwired in the print quality was good and fast. The copying and scanning functions were also easy to use.
However, we had several problems setting up the wireless functionality which, to date, has been tempremental.
Following on from this the cartridges are expensive and dont last very long. We replace toner every couple of weeks and our usage isn't that heavy. Most frustraing of all, Samsung have decided to make it near impossible to print in black and white only so when one colour runs out we loose complete use of our printer. Which for a small business spells disaster.
On top of this we had to replace the imaging unit within six months which was expensive and a nightmare to organise as Samsung customer "support" is an endless drama of call centres and reference numbers.
Just this morning the excess toner tank has died. This means we can't use our printer again!
The most irritating thing is, you get little to no warning when these things need replacing so then you are left having to make a hurried order for replacement parts.
That said when the thing is working is is fast and the quality is excellent. All of this is totally useless when the thing isn't working.

What can I say, big mistake buying this.
The toners are hideously expensive and are crippled by a chip that forces the toner to only print a certain number of prints. It's next to impossible to refill them as the chip on the toner cartridge kills the cartridge. I should have researched this better. £100 for the refills.
The WIFI is a right pain and continued to fail if I disconnected my laptop from the network.
You can simply share your printer over your own wireless network, you dont' really need a wifi printer. Far too much hassle.
I would not recommend this printer.

DO NOT buy this!
1. Costly toner: average £35 per colour, 4 colours.

Too slow
