Added to this improved performance, the BD-UP5000 model is a dual format DVD player which can also switch to playing HD DVD discs. The first true DUAL format player also contains BD Java and HD-i which enables the additional content from both formats to be unlocked and enjoyed by the consumer. Not only does BluRay deliver exceptional video and audio it has been re-designed to compliment Samsung's range of flat panel TV's in LCD and Plasma with gloss black styling coupled with blue backlighting and silver trim. Video output is at 24 frames per second or 60 frames per second to mirror the actual video recording perfectly. On top of this Samsung have engaged HQV or Hollywood Quality Video processing performance to deliver a true movie goers experience from the disc content. This will allow you to enjoy the video content as it was originally recorded, if at 24 frames per second and deliver a true movie experience. HDMI version 1.3 is employed for faster processing, deeper colour resolution and improved overall quality. HDMI connectivity carries HDMI CEC technology for ease of use during operation. Ethernet port is included for over the air upgrades although this can also be performed via a separate recorded disc, if required (disc not provided).
