Great tv at a very good price. Would highly recommend. Smart tv features really good only slight grumble is that the web browser cannot support flash but otherwise all apps ect work great. Picture quality fantastic just wish we had more hd channels to watch. 50 inch perfect size big improvement over the 40 inch models.

I purchased this TV firstly as an upgrade to my existing Samsung TV, and also as a relatively inexpensive alternative to all of the 3D TVs, which do nothing for me.

On opening the package, I was pleasantly surprised by the slick design and sharp lines of the TV. Attaching the stand was easy enough, however, when I placed the TV on the stand, I was once again frustrated to discover that the TV slanted to one side. This is not the first time this has happened to me with a Samsung stand, and they seem to have a nasty habit of not being level. That was the first thing that annoyed me (apart from the delivery driver turning up at my house at SIX THIRTY in the morning).

After setting up the TV, and applying all of my personalised settings, I was at first immediately struck by the crystal clear quality of the HD, but not so the SD, which looks worse than ever now when compared to HD. The menu system is near identical to my previous TV, so there was no problem applying the settings. The sound is a definite improvement, with some beefier internal speakers which protrude from the back of the TV.

So far, just the stand at fault. So I watch the Champions' League match on the day of the delivery, and straight away I notice some horrible vertical shadowing, which was very pronounced with a green background. No matter how much I tinkered with the settings, I could not get rid of them. It is a common problem, apparently, as the numerous videos on YouTube provide evidence for. Then I noticed a small, but off-putting glitch with a picture freeze, on all channels. There would be a split-second freeze, then the action would continue. Then I tested the picture with the lights out, and yes, you've guessed it - the dreaded backlight bleeding was there.
