I test MP3 players for quite a while before posting my review. As this little player comes with a silicon cover and gym modes, I have tried it out in the gym a few times. The player is robust and fits easily inside the little discrete pockets you get in the back of running/ sprinting shorts. I like the way the silicon cover stretches over the cover that protects the usb interface. In time the usb interface cover always seems to come loose and then gets lost, it shouldn't happen with this. Sound quality is good, although it doesn't have as much bottom end as Sony players I have tried/ owned although this might be due to the headphones, which aren't the best quality. The headphones stay in the ear quite well when running - at least for in ear phones - but I couldn't keep them in when I bent down to pick up weights, they seem a bit too round in design, but actually don't look too different to the ones you get with an iPOD touch. Anyway I have taken a star off because of the phones.
The user interface is pretty straight forwards, I haven't looked at the manual yet, and managed to load on the songs I wanted, start it playing, set the volume and lock the interface so it doesn't switch off when I do floor exercises and sit on it. I like the different EQ modes, which allow you to get a variety of sounds and battery life seems pretty good. As far as memory size goes, I have never owned a device with more than 2GB and am well used to loading the play list that I want, I can't last for more than 2 hours in the gym anyway and often not even that long and you can get a good 20 albums or so on the player.
In summary this is like a lot of kit that is made by Samsung, well made, good value and good quality, for its price it seems a more than a fair deal - recommended.
