I bought a 2443BW because I wanted the 1200 vertical lines for reading docs with the full page on screen but the limited viewing angle made the monitor unusable for me. One might survive if you always sit in the same position (and don't mind that the color seen at the top of the screen is different than that at the bottom - ex. rich yellow folder icon at top of screen and pale yellow at the bottom) but I use it at home with a slightly reclining chair - sometimes I am sitting upright and working hard, other times I lean back and relax to read the news - when I move back the browser tab titles become almost unreadable and I need to adjust the monitor tilt to comfortably read the main text. My notebook and other old monitors beside it look fine at all angles - yes the color shifts with dramatic movements but not noticeable in my normal use, so it is not the TN technology's fault - it is this horrible monitor! I returned the 2443BW and bought an HP ZR24wmonitor (eIPS) - the improvement in quality is remarkable (for only $60 more on sale).
