I have a Dell Studio XPS that came with 128Gig SSD hard disk, and I have been waiting for prices to come down before upgrading to a larger capacity disc.
I bought this one last November for an excellent and competitive price here on Amazon (and double Nectar points too - at that time).
So what is there to say?
- It worked first time. I simply removed the old disc (4 screws and unplug from the connector cable), installed this one (same 4 screws and connector cable), put in my windows installation disc and off we go.
I am running Win-7 Ultimate 64 bit. The Samsung is fast, silent (of course, it is SSD) and passes all Dell hard-disk diagnostics.
I use my laptop extensively in my work and for about 16 hours a day. No problems so far.
Incidentally, I put the old Dell SSD into one of these enclosures: Icy Box IB-231StU3-G External Enclosure for 2.5 inch SATA HDD to USB 3.0 Host - Brushed Aluminium
and with USB 3.0, transferring my files and folders from the old HD to the new one was very easy.
I have NOT yet tried using Norton Ghost - but that was not a selling point on this HD for me - it was the capacity, the price and the Samsung brand name.
I highly recommend it.
