4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent holiday read for adults and teenagers, 24 Sep 2007
This review is from: Samson's Quest (Paperback)
A fast paced action packed story that keeps you in supense throughout. The Cayman Island setting stimulates the imagination and has a relaxing effect as you read. The book was thoroughly enjoyed by both myself and teenage son!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ben Byron produces 'Samson's Quest' (Pemba Books) - a super first novel, 20 Dec 2006
This review is from: Samson's Quest (Paperback)
This intriguing, fast-moving novel is a great first effort from Ben Byron who has researched the scientific content excellently and applied it to a fictional medical scenario rooted in 'OTT' (Over-The-Top), unprincipled capitalism. The characters that Ben Byron has created have a firm ring of credibility about them and key characters are presented as having been shaped by the circumstances into which they were born or the situations that developed around them later-on in life. Nevertheless the theme principally revolves around medical ethics being confronted with and abused by unprincipled capitalist paymasters. Samson's Quest is a thought-provoking novel which will ask serious questions of where each reader might position themselves if they were faced with this fictonal portrayal of what might be a potentially real-life situation. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I hope that Ben Byron will contemplate writing a sequel that will even surpass this gripping mind-bender. I feel that there is even better to come from Ben Byron.

This review is from: Samson's Quest (Paperback)
Gripping and scientifically fascinating - a serious page turner. After the first few pages I literally could not put it down, staying up into the small hours to finish it whilst at the same time not wanting it to end, like all of my all-time favourite reads. :-)
