Despite the plastic appearance and feel, these are a strong and secure accessory for a suitcase or bag. Although the strap can be difficult to do up once you are ready to attach to your case, this means that potential thieves are dissuaded from trying to remove them as they are so fiddly, so it works in your favour not the thieves!
