I agree with the previous reviewer in that for anyone with a bit of programming experience this book is great. I think it actually tool me about 20 minutes to get my first web page going, but I think that is reasonable enough. Makes a great little reference book for html programming, especially for people like me who don't do an awful lot of it and need to keep reminding themeselves of the basics. I would recommend this to beginners with previous programming experience, but not to more advanced users (unless they wanted a quick reference).

I'm going to have to disagree with the other reviewer; I found this an excellent little book. If you don't need telling what the internet is, and you don't need telling that blue fonts don't work well on green backgrounds, if you perhaps have done a bit of programming in one language or another a few years back, and think nailing together a simple web-page can't be difficult if only you knew a bit of syntax, then this is the book for you. Yes, 10 minutes is not enough to learn the dustier corners of HTML, and you won't be setting the web-programming community alight, but you will have your web-page by tea-time, and the evening to do something more important with your life.

One definately needs more than 10 minutes to learn HTML and XHTML, even with this book. The book quickly skims what to do if everything goes right, but lacks detail, especially regarding troubleshooting, backwards compatibility and style sheets
