Book Description

Sam is VERY excited. It’s Christmas Eve and Dad has set off into the forest to fetch a festive surprise. He promised to be back before the snow starts to fall but now it’s night-time and there’s no snow . . . and no sign of Dad. Will Sam’s special, homemade snowflake help Dad to find his way out of the forest and home in time for Christmas morning?

About the Author

Gillian Shields writes both picture books and full-length children's fiction, using her experience as a drama teacher for inspiration. Gillian lives a busy life, both writing and teaching, and lives in Sussex with her husband, two children and a little brown dog. SAM’S SNOWFLAKE is her fourth picture book for Macmillan. Her other titles include OUR STRIPY BABY (978 1 4050 2211 8) and BEN AND GRAN AND THE WHOLE, WIDE, WONDERFUL WORLD (978 1 4050 0907 2).

Rosie Reeve originally trained as a fine artist, but became interested in illustrating children’s books after having her own three children. Rosie has illustrated three existing books for Macmillan, including BELLA GETS HER SKATES ON (978 1 4050 8926 5), but this is her first collaboration with Gillian. Her instinctive understanding of colour brings a real warmth to her work, and her adorable, cuddly characters are full of charm.

I bought this book for my grandson Sam.
I like collecting books with my grandchildren's names in the titles.
It is a lovely book to share with any child.
