I love James Patterson, and would call myself a real fan. This book though seemed slow and difficult to get into. You have to make a real effort not to put this book down and once you get into it, it does strike a chord and you can't put it down till it's finished. It's just the initial few pages that you really have to drag yourself through then James Patterson shines once again.

Another page turner from James Patterson. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down and I completed it on the day I started it. This is not a thriller as in the sense of the Alex Cross novels or the Murder Club, however it is an interesting read that captures a summer and the past beautifully. An excellent read.

If you feel like losing yourself in a book which makes you hunger for the next page , then this is the one for you!
Slowly , the story of Jennifer's past experiences creeps upon you , until you feel as if this is something you have experienced with your best friend. You feel her sadness, her hope and the love which she has for her family and in particular her beloved grandmother. When she eventually starts to read her grandmothers letters you come to appreciate the closeness of family ties and when she meets her new love you are rooting every step of the way and wishing for a happy ending. This book successfully involves the reader emotionally without being mushy and probably the only criticsm is that it isn't long enough to include all the history you would like to know about Jennifer's past. Definitely a good holiday read!

This is a fantastic thought provoking book that makes you think about what is important in your life and how to change things that are not as important. I couldn't put the book down once I had started as I wanted to find out about sam and jennifer's life and the decisions they made that altered them. i would highly recommend this book for the beach, a long journey or if your just stuck in a rut

After "Suzanne's diary...." I felt I just had to read this. Within the first pages came the first twist, I had to re-read just to make sure I had followed the plot correctly. It then moved along at a cracking pace but I was wondering just where it was going. I think it was only my knowledge of James Pattersons work and feeling sure that another twist was coming, that made me persevere but, about two thirds through (it is only a short book), I was hooked! What a marvelous story. You must read it!

I recently read an interview with Mr. Patterson wherein it was disclosed that he writes outlines for his novels, and then collaborators (which is a fancy word for anonymous authors) create the actual stories. That colored my reading of this entertaining, light novel about a woman and the advice shared by her grandmother via a series of letters.

The premise is a familiar one, and there will be very few surprises. Getting there, however, is the main part of the interest. Jennifer has recently suffered a loss, and Sam is trying to help her allow herself happiness again. I won't include a bunch of spoilers here as so many others have done, but if you've read more than a couple of these sorts of novels, you'll know how it will end.

I quite enjoyed the story, and look forward to reading the other novel that has been written in this vein, "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas." All my best to the faceless author who put this together on the basis of Mr. Patterson's outline.

This is one of the more emotional books i've read in a long time. It's such an easy read, you actually feel like you know the charaters and you can't help but read chapter after chapter until you realise you've finished reading the book. Then you wish there was a part two.
