So the day he disappeared from my world, it felt like my life was over, all over again. But I will find him - I'll make it my mission.
About the Author
Jill Hucklesby was born in Brighton, and started her writing career at the tender age of five. She later gained an honours degree in English and Drama and went on to work in theatre, journalism and PR for arts and medical organisations and UK charities, including Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has written for stage and children's television and was nominated for the Television Arts Performance Showcase comedy writing award at BAFTA. She has written three previous novels for young people, including If I Could Fly, which was shortlisted for the Waterstone's Prize, and Deeper than Blue which won the 1066 Schools' Book Award, was shortlisted for the Bolton Children's Book Award and the Spellbinding Award, and longlisted for the Branford Boase Award. This is her second novel for Egmont.

This isn't my usual taste (as I read Stephen King and other disturbing novels) but I picked it up because I read the reviews and they made it sound good, and well, it is. Very good. It also made me cry, alot, especially with her brother Ed and all the problems her Mother faces.
The writing is simple, yet flows beautifully, and sucks you straight into the story.
Really really nice story, and one that stays with you long after reading it. I highly recommend it, and it's good for children and adults alike (I'm 21)

I was persuaded to buy this book from amazon and wow what a book the first book that has really touched me now I am desperate for a horse if you love a good book this is for you I coulndt put it down!!!!!!!!!!!!

(A word of warning - no matter what age, you will want your own horse after reading this...)
Very soon we learn of the tragedy which has befallen the protagonist's family, and as we follow them fighting against the odds, two broken characters find each other - the teenage daughter and a wild, unruly horse named Samphire. The bond between them builds as they learn to trust each other and grow together until the worst happens and they are separated.
The poignant journey that ensues leaves you willing with your whole being for the two to be reunited. Rarely do I find myself tearing up whilst reading, but this epic tale makes shedding a tear or two unavoidable.
An incredibly uplifting novel and undoubtedly the most touching story I have ever read.
I highly recommend this book.
