Let me firstly preface by saying that I used the Santorini book of the same series by the same author with much success in 2009. So getting this book for Rhodes made perfect sense. Well that was a mistake, although I must stress that my review is soley based on the walks for Rhodes.
Walk 11 (to Lindos) was a non-starter - literally. We managed to find the start of the from the road, but after crossing the dry stream bed after about 2min walking we could no longer see where to walk. The map & the description did match up, which made it further confusing. With retrospect I think the description should have advised to follow the break-of-slope. Long story short we got a taxi back. I can confirm, however, that the trail DOES exist at the other end of the walk, because it was near our accommodation. I in fact walked it in reverse for about 30min, before heading back. Probably better to walk in reverse if attempting this one.
We also tried walk 13 to Tsambika - we only made it as far as Tsambika beach. This walk is totally pointless - there literaly is NO path - it really is totally freestyling. By the time we got to the pine forest that leads down to the beach my girlfriend refused to freestyle anymore & so we followed the new dirt trail down to the beach. I will agree with the author that Tsambika beach was almost certainly the nicest beach we went to in Rhodes (& we tried out a few).
In conclusion I was really disappointed with the book - I even had the updates from the author's website, which didn't help. After these two attempted walks we gave up trying to follow anymore.
Can't really recommend this book - get the Santorini book & go to Santorini !!!
