I bought this book to get an idea of a country I knew nothing about before I went there for my sister's wedding. She was marrying a local boy, so we really wanted to have some idea about local customs so we wouldn't embarrass ourselves or her.
This book has just the right amount of local colour and information. You can tell the writers have actually been there and that gives you confidence in the information.
Information about the people and their customs were spot on. We only went to Tonga's main island, but the book and the place whetted our appetite to go further afield if we ever manage to get out that way again.

This version is so old it tells you where to buy film.Should be pulled from sale as there are later versions. Disappointing.

Took this with us on a trip to American Samoa and found it an invaluable resource. And also used it as a resource in writing a research paper on the island afterward; the book has a lot of history/interesting tidbits in addition to practical travel knowledge/tips. Highly recommend.
