Saman was born in Pakistan, grew up in the Middle East and spent her teenage years in Australia before moving to London. She's written for most media including film, theatre, radio and prose. She's previously had plays performed at the Soho Theatre, Waterman's Theatre, Hampstead Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has also completed a STARTS writing residency at the Soho Theatre. Her radio commissions included 'The Beauty of Things' and 'Keeping Up Traditions', both broadcast on BBC Radio London. Her short stories include 'Sucking on Tamarind', which appeared in Tell Tales Vol. 2, and 'The Last Mouthful', which appeared in the Decibel anthology New Voices from a Diverse Culture, published by Penguin in 2006.
Until recently she wrote for the BBC radio drama series Silver Street. She is currently working on a novel entitled NationLess.
