The Salter Black & Chrome Slimline Kitchen Scale has an easy to read display with 20 mm high digits and metric / imperial conversion. The easy to clean slimline platform is stainless steel and small enough to store away neatly. Features include aquatronic liquid measure function and add & weigh feature. This scale measures 160 x 180 x 2 mm. powered by lithium CR2032 battery which is included. Salter are so sure that this scale will not develop a fault they have give it a 15 year manufactures guarantee.

Nice slim and compact kitchen digit scales, that can be used to measure grams, pounds, fluid ounces and millilitres; you can very easily switch between them by the touch of a button too. Simple on/off button doubles up as a zeroing button too, so that you can measure out, say, 100g of flour, zero the scales and add a further 50g of flour all in the same bowl without having to do any maths; maximum weight it can measure is 5kg.
There is no bowl with this scale, as it is designed to have a flat platform onto which you can place your item to weigh, or place a bowl in which you can then add your ingredients, so very flexible. One minor grumble. As it is quite small (16cm x 18cm), the display can be difficult to read if the bowl on the scales is large. Overall an excellent product.

What more can be said? It's such a slim device and is perfect for storage in our cupboard. The display is clear and its easy to use; the units being changed by just one button. Its also very accurate, which makes a change!
The build quality is also what you'd expect from Salter. This is essential if you're a busy bee in the kitchen!

I bought these scales as a replacement for my old Swan digital scales and it has been a superb purchase.
I use scales mainly for bread making and it is very accurate and sensitive to to even the smallest additions.Handy to put the breadmaker bowl on the scales and zero it between additions.
I was a bit doubtful about how it could measure liquids (ml) so used an accurate jug to pour liquids into the breadmaker bowl but the scales were spot on so now all the measurements are done by the scales apart from teaspoons of yeast and even 1 was registered on the scale!
One SLIGHT critisism is that the indicators of what mode you are in ie, grammes. ounces, ml etc are rather small for MY eyesight but the readout is great.
Another critisism is that it is now cheaper since I bought it!!!!
All in all a great machine and a fantastic price too with a 15 year guarantee.

After more than 2 years of use it is still fantastic and I think it is still the same battery!
I do a lot on ebay and need accurate scales for postage and they always have the same reading as on the Post Office scales.

Had salter before but happier now it goes up by 1gram st a time more accurate. It also gives how much longer the battery has to go.

Very inaccurate
Bought this to weigh my herbs and monitor my families salt intake.
