This is best timer I have ever bought. Very easy to operate, counts up quite fast if you hold button down and the alarm is very pleasant and user friendly. In other words when alarm goes off it does not cause you to leap out of your chair in shock and nearly have a heart attack! I have ordered another to replace my other alarm which has aged me several years and given me repeated shock and grey hair due to the piercing noise and very loud volume of the alarm! That one is going to be retired early regardless of the what the Government says!!!

Having had all sorts of timers, many of which clockwork - which usually break down in the end, this salter big button is a wizard. You can reset immediately after use, no faffing about rewinding. You can repeat the same timing, useful when turning something being cooked and requiring attention at regular intervals. The battery does have to keep going all of the time, but that is just like a watch. The buzzer is very hight pitched and insistent but never obtrusive, it can be heard easily over a high level of general background noise. An invaluable kitchen tool.

Bit quiet
The last timer I had was realy loud - wish I could remember where it came from! This one is a bit quiet, but otherwise reliable - ok if you are mooching about in the kitchen anyway
