Format:Blu-ray
Salt is a bit daft, but is also a very enjoyable, very well made and well acted action thriller. Angelina Jolie is excellent and leads a very good cast, Chiwetal Ejiofer from Serenity and Inside Man and Liev Scrieber from X Men Origins: Wolverine and Defiance also both very good as they lead the hunt to capture Salt. Plenty of twists and turns and things are not entirely who or what they seem. This was originally meant to star Tom Cruise but he passed to do Knight And Day and someone somewhere had the bright idea of rewriting the character into a woman and cast Angelina Jolie instead. Hopefully this will become the start of a new movie franchise as the end strongly hints at a Salt 2. In fact, they might as well have put up a to be continued sign! This has the potential to be if not a female James Bond series, then at least a female Jason Bourne. Excellent!

Although I can see how casting the `All American' Tom Cruise would have been a hook, given the storyline, casting Jolie has probably produced a far more interesting movie and she really has excelled herself, a great performance and creation of a very memorable character. The same can be said for the rest of the cast - all generally not quite given the credit they deserve and yet they deliver time and time again.
Undoubtedly the whole project has picked up a few lessons from Bourne, good and bad, but that only serves to make a film that solidly stands on its own feet and delivers a breathtaking spectacle. No gloss, glamour or romance just full on intrigue, betrayal and combat. The story, twists and action are utterly relentless, barely stopping even when the film finishes.
Buy it or rent it. Just watch it. Salt 2 will definitely be on my `to watch' list. Can't wait.

Non stop, relentless action thriller. Brilliant that it is a female lead and not tom Cruise et al. Can not wait for Salt 2.

this is awful
