I purchased this shoe for walking and running on subtropical islands in very steep and rugged terrain, on grass, mud, in rainforest, semi-desert and volcanic ash. The shoes fit great, are very lightweight, and have very grippy soles. However, the grip seems to be enhanced by very soft rubber, which means that after 2-4 weeks on anything other than soft mud or grass the profile is worn down, to the point where the grip let's you down. After 6 months of light use I took these shoes to a volcanic island, running mostly in ash-covered rain forest. The soles are now completely void of any profile, and provide no grip whatsoever. In pouring rain and on >45 degree slopes the front-foot polyester material, which is nice and lightweight and breathable, did not hold up to forces and shredded. The shoes are now completely destroyed and unusable. I had them for a total of 8 months, and they saw intensive use for 2 months. It is a nice product, but if you are looking for durability, this does not seem to be the top choice.
