5.0 out of 5 stars Useful, 22 Oct 1999

This book cannot be avoided if an analysis of the Salem Witchtrails is being carried out. It is reasonably priced and puts its arguments across both accurately and coherently.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 3 May 2004
Having recently had to write a 3,000 word essay on the origins of the Salem Witch Trials, I found this book invaluable. Boyer and Nissenbaum convey astute arguments with the evidence to back it up. There's no way I could have gotten through my essay without this book, and even if you're not prouducing written work on the Trials, this is a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting read.
