i was impressed when I bought this pump that it had 2 year warranty. We used it for about 10 months. It then siezed. We were careful to do all the recommended installation procedures. The installer commented on the poor quality of the flexible couplings at the time he put them in. When I contacted Salamander all they wanted to do was get an extra £100 out of me for a visit. I foolishedly did not realise that the purpose of the visit was solely to find some reason to void the warranty. The guy who came did not even look at the pump. Nor did he bring any tools except a thermometer in case the water was too hot.
When he could not find anything obviously at fault he got on the the phone to Salamander the reason given was one of a flexible pipe was twisted but they would sell another pump at "half price". This was still more than the price we had paid originally. With this sales model one can understand why the durability of the product goes out the window.
I told this story at a pump repair shop and got the impression that I was not the first to be annoyed at this Company's system of marketing.
If you do buy a pump from this Company I advise not to rely on any warranty they offer and do not give them any additional monies.
Additionally we found that when the pump worked it was quite noisy
