I have owned the Original Cast recording LP of this show for many years, but *exclusive to this particular CD version* is over 30 minutes of bonus material from Act Two, recorded 'live' in 1956 during the West End run - a unique and fascinating
historical document, released to the public for the first time! The 1956 theatre audience clearly were having a great time, and enjoying every minute, something you cannot appreciate from the studio recording, and helps to explain which the show ran for so long - indeed one of the most successful British musicals of all time. The 'live' tapes have been remastered, and sound surprisingly good, and the comment from the actor who had the foresight to record it (in his rather spooky voice....)at the end is great : 'How happy we all were then'. Yes indeed!
