5.0 out of 5 stars A must for all beef farmers. 7 Jun 2008
Format:Paperback
Although i do not agree with every sentiment in the book on the whole this book is a must read. Every grassland farmer should study this book and then consider their own production methods. This book should be read in conjunction with Julius Ruechel's Grass fed Cattle. Amazingly these two authors do not reference each other but have adopted the same (or extremely similar) farming technique although from two different start points. Read them, then go and get some elctric fencing and have a play. I did and its working!

By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Joel Salatin brings optimism and energy to this series of essays on how he raises beef (and other livestock ) on grass for direct market to urban consumers. He reveals his tricks in great detail, such as the egg-mobile, the pig-aerator, electric fencing, the warm winter hay shed, and how to promote the meat. A must for anyone looking for new ideas on raising livestock

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book 9 Jun 2012
Format:Paperback
Joel Salatin is an inspirational writer and credible author (he's actually practiced what he preaches!) - this particular book is fantastic. Salatin explains key principles in simple and accessible language, and manages to convey his own energy and 'can-do' attitude really well.

It's not a text-book, and isn't sufficient to produce an action plan to start a sustainable, successful pasture-based beef farm but is a great start!
