"Salaam Namaste" is the first Bollywood film that I have watched and I must say that I was very impressed with it. It is a romantic comedy and it is far better than any of the Hollywood productions of this type that I have seen in recent years. The characters are likeable, the acting is good, the action is colourful and vibrant and the storyline is engaging. "Salaam Namaste" conveys the problems that often occur in modern relationships superbly well ,combining humour and light heartedness with scenes of sadness and emotional turmoil. There are four songs in this two and a half hour long film and they are all enjoyable ; they complement the storyline rather than provide a distraction from it. A great ,uplifting film , but why ,oh why, did they have to have that silly doctor in the final scenes !
