5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Lovely, 9 Jul 2007
By AG Stephenson "andrewjoychris" (Newhaven England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a very beautiful life-affirming film.

It consists of six love stories very cleverly interwoven - the scriptwriters must have been great jigsaw players at an early age.

Each story is very different from all the rest and yet they are all very engaging. The film lasts nearly four hours and yet when it ends, you are already hoping for a sequel.

Priyanka Chopra is very lovely in her role and surprises us with a very carefully crafted performance with some real depth. Govinda's heart-warming story is in liaison with an unknown but surprisingly good American actress called Shannon Esrechowitz - she's a real find.

The most heart-wrenching story concerns John Ambraham (an Indian actor despite the name) and Vidha Balan - you will need to watch it to find the outcome of this intriguing tale.

The direction is first-class in every respect from the wonderful set-pieces to the careful use of lighting, including appropriate use of grey tones in the Anil Kapoor story to the exceptional use of location shots in London and elsewhere.

Do yourself a favour and buy this DVD - if you believe in the redemptive value of peace and love, you won't regret it!

4.0 out of 5 stars feel good movie, 15 April 2009
By P. Vance (england) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Although the film follows a much trodden formulae.... ie, tracking the lives of five? couples and their individual stories the stories/plots are above average and engage the viewers interest and empathy throughout the film.... in places either funny or moving. Even the way in which the couples occasionally overlap in time and place appears natural rather than contrived. Actually, although I have given this film only 4 stars, it probably deserves 4 1/2 As bollywood movies go a good sense of modernity and realism.
I strongly recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyed this one
The photos on the cover of this DVD made me unclear whether this was to be a serious modern drama like "Life in a Metro". Read more
