2.0 out of 5 stars Here is a reasonable review: 27 Oct 2009
This is the PK05AVARG silver aluminium-coated USB keyboard by Saitek. It's decent, it's reasonable to type on (please consider a palm rest!), and has some genuinely useful "multimedia" keys. It's the first one I've seen with a specific button to bring up the calculator app! It's also a great size, the keys are pretty standard "size", and all in the usual location, but the surrounding enclosure doesn't stretch much further so it is also fitting nicely in what little space I have at the front of my desk.

However, I don't recommend buying it because the paint will come off. After a few months of use, many buttons on mine are turning black as the paint is rubbing off.

A shame really, I can't stand black keyboards!

3.0 out of 5 stars Classic Style Keyboard with a shiny twist 1 Aug 2009
I bought this keyboard as a replacement to the basic model that is supplied with Dell home PCs. It has the classic extended keyboard layout: the bottom of the arrow keys are parallel with the main keys and the Insert-to-PageDown block of keys are arranged 2-high by 3-wide. I dislike the modern trend for cramming the keys together, so this fits the bill.

This is a slim model with the keys not as proud as a traditional keyboard. However, they are more prominent than the Dell unit and it's easy to find the home keys.

It has an aluminium effect, most of the top surface of the surround has a thin layer of brushed aluminium which is nice to lay your hands on. The keys are a kind of matte silver. In a darkend room, the letters reflect light off the monitor and it is easier to see the keys than a standard black keyboard.

There are some useful multi-media keys. You can mute the sound and pause playback (even Spotify) and all the other usual stuff. These all became effective with no special installation required.

It looks great sitting alongside my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 mouse. Overall, it is a cheap keyboard but it looks good and feels right to me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Slime line silver 1 Dec 2009
    By L. Key
This keyboard WORKS - which is a few steps better than my previous one.
But I have hardly had it any time at all and the letters are wearing away.
Which is ironic really when I bought this thing because it wasn't black, and now it's turning black...

It came good and fast and other than the stupidly premature wearing away of the silver paint, it works perfectly. Thanks
