Having owned more mice than i can shake a stick my last one a Logitech G5 which is a great a great mouse in its own right i thought i would try the wireless route and having some spare cash (which is rare) i thought i would treat myself with the R.A.T 9.Delivery was swift as usual from Amazon and the mouse was well packaged so no problems there,The mouse itself is well presented in a box so nice it cant be thrown away:) once you have removed the mice it straight away feels as heavy as a house brick this is because all of the weights are installed in the mouse so bare this in mind when you first take it out and think omg like i did :) Once removed and you have the mouse in your hand you can then start to convince yourself why you have just spent the best part of £100 on a mouse. The quality is amazing a solid robust feel greets you and as soon as you place your hand in the required gaming position you know your going to kick some ass,as described by the manufacturers the mouse is very customizable as inside the box there is a metal tin containing all sorts of different fittings that you can change like the palm rest and thumb/finger rests to suite your hand small or large. The mouse can be use straight from the box as the batteries have enough power in them to get you going. The neat little battery charger looks impressive on your desktop and also acts as a storage unit for your weights which is cool, one thing to note is the mouse has a metal base so this has on its own adds to the weight in fact so much i don't use any additional weights so there kind of useless in my eyes but that's maybe just preference.Read more ›

First of all, I would like to make it clear that I love this mouse. The materials that it is made of feels great, it is very sensitive and has some very nice customisation.

There are a number of different buttons on the mouse, you have the left and right click (which both feel very nice to press), you have the page back and page forward buttons, and you have the "precision aim" button. What this does is when you hold it down, the DPI on the mouse gets slowed down temporarily. Very useful for you snipers out there! All these buttons are fully customisable, you can get them to do whatever you want with the software bundled, as I said earlier, very customisable!

But its not just the software that is customisable on this mouse, it is also the mouse itself! You can change many different plates on the mouse, and you can also adjust certain ones. This is perfect for those who want maximum comfort!

But, there are also some cons with this mouse. If you pull the back plate out quite far, the mouse tends to point upwards... Which makes it completely useless. Also, after a number of months of using this mouse, the main scroll wheel has started to make a slightly strange sound when you scroll with it...

Now, I have stated many more pros than cons, and have expressed my love for this mouse, but why the four stars, you may ask? Well, this mouse is VERY expensive. For this price range, I would not be expecting many cons at all, and for the price you could get something better.

If you are the sort of gamer that only plays games every once and a while, then do not get this mouse. If you love PC gaming, and want an excellent mouse, then I would say go for this! If you have the money, I would recommend this mouse.

I have to say that this is by far the most responsive wireless mouse I have used. It is both comfortable and lightning quick for gaming, I only loaded the Driver, not the Complete Software for this mouse, us Gamers hate any kind of bloatware, the mouse works great with the Driver alone, the only problem is that, without the software installed you don't know how much battery life you have left, this can lead to sudden no operation of the mouse. It does come with 2 batteries that are easy to change out.The spare battery sits in the wireless dongle so it's always charging and readily available. Some folk have complained on various forms that they struggle with this, but if you remove the back rest, which is easily removed, it is very easy to change out.Battery life is around 9 hours of normal computing use and around 6 hours for heavy gaming. But, apart from the battery, which I've gone on about long enough, I really like this wireless mouse for it's exceptional responsiveness.

Overall I have been very impressed with this over the last 6 months using daily, however at this price point I would expect a little more and for this reason it only scores 3 stars.

Due to the following problems I would probably recommend a different product:

- Battery life not as good as other wireless mice
- Trouble with drivers and Windows interfering, took me a long time to troubleshoot and resolve tracking issues
- You need to 'wake-up' the mouse which gets annoying
- Doesn't track particularly well on dark/glass surfaces, had to get new mats
