Synopsis

Rejoin the ranks of the most unholy Saints around as you return to the Row to experience gang life, post-fame. Kids are kicking around in Saints sneakers, tough-guy hopefuls are slurping Saints energy drinks and storeowners are proudly displaying Johnny Gat bobble heads on their top shelves. Celebrity status has hit — but will the Saints survive their newfound glory unscathed?

In Saints Row: The Third, fame and fortune come at a bittersweet price for the kings of Stilwater. Faced with serious demands from the legendary criminal fraternity, the Syndicate, the Saints must hit the streets of Steelport to trample their new rivals — and defend their status. Get ready for intense action, grueling gang violence and outlandish situations to spare as you take on a decaying city of sin in an all-new battle with the Saints. Buckle up and take a massive tank on a wild ride — through the sky. Duke it out against trained military forces and call in a strategic airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang. With grit and guts galore, you and your gang will never kneel to an enemy. After all, just because you're a Saint doesn't mean you have to behave.

Key Features:

  • Return to the streets of Stilwater and discover how fame and fortune as the kings of the town has affected the Saints — for the better and for the worse
  • Take the fight to Steelport, a struggling city of sin where you must battle it out with the dangerous Syndicate gang
  • Get some serious air while driving a massive tank — right through the sky
  • Take on a Mexican wrestling gang in a satellite-targeted airstrike
  • Defend yourself against a highly trained military force in an incredibly outlandish scenario

4.0 out of 5 stars Great action packed game but seems short 10 Dec 2011
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
After being impressed with Saints Row 2 I got myself Saints Row The Third.

Story line: Its mad, funny, random and action packed. Instead of going to someone to do missions they are now all on your phone so you can just call them and it will start the mission this saves a bit of driving about like before. But one thing I was unhappy with is the story line is way to short I believe its much shorter than Saints Row 2 however still enjoyed it.

Good:
Improved graphics and details.
More weapons to use.
Still able to create your character.
Mod any car you want.
Missions unlock lots of cool weapons and cars etc.
Action packed story.
Lots of side missions to do.
Game loads up really quick and hardly no loading screens.

Bad:
Clothes shops don't have as much as the last game.
Short story.
Can't modify your cribs anymore.
Can't change controls.
Flying helicopters is really hard to do.

Overall:

It's a great action packed fun game with loads to do. It has improved in some areas but at the same time has lost track of other stuff. The short story line is what really is stopping me from giving it the full 5/5. I would say if you liked the last game and if this is your first time playing it prepare for some fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant story. 13 Feb 2013
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3| Edition:Standard Edition|Verified Purchase
This is by far one of my favourite games! Saints Row The Third kept me entertained for weeks, the storyline is so much fun and if you happen to get bored of playing the story you can take a break and free roam the city doing everything you've always wanted to do, like stealing cars or sky diving for instance. I gave this game five stars and would definitely recommed purchasing it!

3.0 out of 5 stars GTA Clone or not. It's fun, but it tries to hard 21 Sep 2013
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3| Edition:Standard Edition|Verified Purchase
While with the latest 2 GTA games IV and V, GTA has gone more serious. However with Saint's Row its gone more and more over the top.

Its a fun game on its own. The missions a ridiculous. The characters are stupid and the writing doesn't seam to be so much slapstick as it seams to be toilet-humor aimed not at 18+ year olds, but rather 14- year olds who tricked their parents into getting them the game.

The game offers up allot of minigames in addition to do, but mostly its recycled from the SR2. Sadly many of the really funny minigames are left out from saints row 2.

The graphics have improved. Sadly the physics have not. If you really liked SR2 you will be dissapointed with SR3 as the story is not as clever as before. Its fun to freeroam and play 2 player, but didnt give much replay-ability value for me to bother with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really fun but falls short. 20 Nov 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
OK, firstly I should mention that for various reasons I pre-ordered this from a stockist in the Netherlands and it turned up way before the release date, which was exceptionally pleasing and means I've managed to clock about 40 hours of gameplay over the last week between work and being a husband (it helps that my wife was as enthusiastic about it as I was, lucky ain't I?). Anyway, that's the first good thing about this game: there's a lot to do and it takes a long time to get bored. Despite what I promised myself I'm writing this without actually having completed the story missions (something like 5 left to do or something).

This is a good-looking game. Saints Row 2 wasn't bad but I always thought the streets looked a little trim and tidy, this looks dirty and gritty by comparison which in turn gives it a better feel. The characters and vehicles are also more sculptured, a little real-er. One way the look is let down though is the relative shortage of variety in the clothing available when compared to SR2. I know it's a small point and I'm being picky but customisation is such a big part of the game that it seems weird to have less variety in this than there was in SR2.

I do have a few concerns about the game: the inclusion of the first of each side activity in the total number of story missions feels like I'm being cheated out of something. The total mission count is about 47 but a bunch of them (10 or so) are things like Trail Blazing and Escort activities. I don't have a problem with those side activities, but including them as essential missions kind of makes it feel like the writers ran out of ideas.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Saints Row 2 13 Aug 2012
By Poppy

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I played Saints Row 2 and absolutely loved it, it was just so much fun to play and when I completed it I thought I have to buy Saints Row the Third.

I am little disappointed, dont get it wrong it is fun and the graphics are fantastic but after playing the second one, it just isnt as good.

When you kill gang members and you know how many waves of gangs are going to come and there is a timer, it just get boring. All the cars look the same and its easy to find all the ones/fast ones so there is no collectable element to it. I dont think there are as many activities to do within the game compared to the second one.

You dont have to gain a stronghold over the areas like you did with no2, you just keep buying and you have to buy all the bonuses like dual weilding guns, just makes it montonous.

Id say buy the second one over this one, the graphics are not as good but in saying that the graphics are still fantastic.
