Before buying this one I've bought the first and the second volume and I must say this one is absolutely the best of them. Volume 3 for me is an ideal summerish compilation - light nice and smooth, well, let's face it - it's gorgeous! Buy it and enjoy the perfect compilation of nu jazz and downtempo.

Just to verify the theme of these compilations, they are a collection ofnu-jazz tracks with a Parisian flavour, typically reflecting the cooljazzy vibe of cafe's found along the Rue de Saint-Germain. Although hiswork has a similar vibe, the artist 'St.Germain' has NOT been credited onthe sleeve notes as the compiler of these records. Other titles in theseries include 'Champs-Elyees Cafe' which have a more electro feel.
I highly recommend this album over all the other Saint-Germain-des-presvolumes, because it achieved the balance between volume one (quiteleftfield) and volume two (very vocal). It starts off uptempo with hi-hatsa go-go, gradually mellowing out toward the middle, then jumping into lifewith 4/4 beats and ending in a hilarious honky-tonk piano version ofmoloko's 'sing it back'.
If you enjoy the artists Koop, St.Germain and Jazzanova, you woulddefinately enjoy this series. However, in my opinion, buy this one firstas it is the best.

In my non-jazz opinion this compilation by Saint Germain is the best one so far and is up there with their own "Tourist" album. This is also more tuneful and interesting than "Touris". On track "Quiet Night" has such gouges seductive vocalst that makes you feel like your in heaven played after a hard day in the office. The rest of the album is a mix of very modern and old and is great for the car or on quality hi-fi spates. Listen to it drunk, sober or smoking and it gets a rare 5 stars from me!

This is a really cool album - not in any way related to St. Germain (Tourist, etc.), but if you liked that, you'll like this.
