5.0 out of 5 stars The Series Starts to Mean Business 4 Aug 2012
By Sam_CC
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I started reading Sailor Moon because I felt that after so many years it was only right to try out this classic series now that it's easier to access for casual readers. And I'll admit that coming to the manga as a complete stranger, with no prior knowledge of the series, it was a little hard for me to get into at first. But this volume was a real turning point for me - suddenly the characters became much easier to care about and I found myself really enjoying reading it.

So if you're wall-sitting in regards to whether you should keep on going with this series, like I was, this might be a good volume to get to for you to make a decision. I know that I'll definitely be reading until the end of the series now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! 5 May 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was very excited to receive the latest issue of Sailor Moon! Volume 5 conclueds the Black Moon Arc of the series and shows the awakening of Chibi-Usa! The artwork and drama of the characters are just beautiful. You can see how Usagi / Sailor Moon blossoms into her future self. I was left with a little tear! <3. If you're a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait for Vol. 6 to come out which the story goes into the Infinity Arc! <3 <3

Happy Reading ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars A great improvement over the prior re-releases 14 May 2012
By Tsu - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sailor Moon 5 covers the end of the Black Moon Arc. It's a very revealing and poignant part of the series, which covers the transformation and death of key characters. Beyond that, however, I am extremely pleased at this translation. The fans of SM have voiced concerns regarding the poor quality of the translation of the last 4 volumes which contained everything from translation errors, misspells, and complete typos. ("Princess Beryl" and "Spark Ring Wide Pressure", in example.) This is the first volume released in which no glaring errors exist. I saw no problems with the translation and can only hope (particularly because this volume was slightly delayed) that Kodansha is going over the translations with an editor. Also, they remain true to the original with "Chibi-Moon" and "Black Lady", regardless of any awkwardness the latter may hold for western audiences. It's what the fans have wanted and I'm very pleased with this volume and hope the quality remains the same for the ones to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sailor Moon reprint volume 5-Conclusion of the Black Moon Arc 9 May 2012
By Kohinata99 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
*may contain spoilers*
The next volume of the reprints of Sailor Moon in line is volume 5, with a pretty pic of Eternal Sailor Venus on the cover, and just like the previous releases, features gorgeous art and of course, a new, great translation (if not, then better than Tokyopop's back in '97). As the review says, this book concludes the Black Moon Arc of Sailor Moon with the appearances of Black Lady, Death Phantom, Chibiusa's new henshin and many other surprises featuring Neo Queen Serenity, Usagi, Sailor Pluto and many others. What I'm happy about now is that the next Arc in the series is the Infinity Arc in volume 6. That's when the popular Outer Senshi appear. Now that the two plain sagas (but still good!) are finished, we can look forward to the reprint releases of the Infinity, Dream and Stars Arcs, and hopefully the two short story volumes. This volume shouldn't disappoint fans old or new. It just came out today, so run over to Barnes & Noble and go grab a copy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sailor Moon & Sailor V Mangas 22 May 2012
By Brittany - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I recently ordered Sailor Moon 1-5, as well as Sailor V 1 & 2, and if your an original Sailor Moon manga fan, I recommend it! The bindings, unlike the orginal English release, are well made. Everything is printed beautifully, so the artwork is unobstructed by the binding. Everything is left in it's original format, from the way it's read to the Japanese names. It even has translation and explanations (a mini-reading guide) in the back.
My only problem with the books, is that there's a couple of mis-printed words. Like the words "the the" or instead of "this" it's printed "tis." I've also heard a few of the translations were wrong. That I can't confirm though. ;)

If you haven't read Sailor Moon before, what's wrong with you? Lol. If your a fan of manga/anime you have to read it. It's what originally made manga/anime so popular in the states. If you have a child, it also has a great life lessons about love, friendship, never giving up, etc. And if you just want a feel good read, well, I can speak for my self when I say Sailor Moon and Sailor V mangas make me feel good. It's heart warming. <3
