This could have been a lovely ship, but the instructions are a real disappointment. Each position of each piece has a number allocated to it on the instruction sheet. And that is basically all the instructions you get. You then need to match the corresponding pieces together. The individual pieces don't have numbers, so it is very time consuming. If Woodcraft would have spent a few minutes writing out clear instructions, it may have enjoyable to make. Allow loads of time for searching for tiny numbers on one sheet of paper, if you are going to make this model, because that's what it's all about.
It's very difficult to paint, due to all the gaps in the hull strips, and can only be painted before the sails are put up. The ship will fall apart as the sails are put up if you haven't used glue for the early parts.
Overall, a real disappointment.
On the positive side, the final look is very good, the cut outs are reasonable.
As a tip, learn how to tie a few basic knots, and use a mini glue gun, and you will have lovely rigging.
