Book Description

Aug 2009
Just as film, art, music, and literature have the power to move people, Stefan Sagmeister's innovative work shows that graphic design can also cut to the emotional core. Stefan's desire is to transform stale thinking and "Sagmeister: Made You Look" will do just that. Fully illustrated, with a red PVC slipcase, this monograph covers twenty years of his graphic design and features images from the studio archive as well as specific influences and reference points for his projects and ideas.

Jump into Sagmeister's brain and you will come out feeling refreshed with possibility. Full of wonderful, inventive, anarchic, executed ideas. Makes you realise that creativity can overflow across the barriers that we all tend to get pigeoned holed by. Yes it's another self indulgent graphic design book. But one that will stay with you forever. People with ideas like this are timeless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made you stare... 22 Feb 2010

This is quite simply an exquisite gem.

I consider myself a lay person when it comes to graphic design, but nonetheless, this book is bursting with ideas and possibilities that all creative people, no, ALL people can incorporate into their lives, so as to bring a smile to the rest of humanity. It is a 'warts and all' story of how Stefan Sagmeister has become such a well respected designer; he tells not only of the high points, such as designing CD sleeves for the Rolling Stones, but also the low points in setting up his design agency.

This is definitely a desert island book for me. Buy it for yourself and anyone you love!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 18 Jun 2007
Format:Paperback
Excellent overview of the design work of Stephen Sagmeister. I am a huge fan of his work and in my opinion this book definitely does him justice. The book is very well designed and the cover's changing image design is beautiful. If you are a fan of his work, or want a good introduction to his graphics work this book is perfect.
