Product Description

Product Description

The Sagemcom F@ST PACK WIFI PLUS is a complete Powerline solution with Wi-Fi Extender and is is designed to work with any service provider to make sure everyone can make the most of their broadband around their home. Extend the range of your Wi-Fi around your home and enjoy the full broadband experience meaning Wi-Fi cold spots are a thing of the past.

Easy set up - No install necessary, just connect one to your router and plug this into one of your mains wall power sockets, then plug the other into another mains socket elsewhere in your house - wherever you want to create a strong WiFi spot, they are already paired and you will then create Wi-Fi coverage around your home in minutes.

There are also two Ethernet ports on the base of the WiFi plug, so you could also choose to connect via a cable to a device such as a Smart TV or printer. Say for example you position this plug behind your television - creating a WiFi bubble there, but you could then also physically connect a cable to a device such as a games console AND a Smart TV for maximising your connection speed.

Ideal for connection of Smartphones or tablets all around the house and streaming, gaming, TV, file sharing and other devices over Wi-Fi.

Sagemcom F@ST PACK has a contemporary white finish blending it in front of any power outlet.

How Power-line Networking Works - Power-line networking is a way to connect computers etc in your home. It uses the electrical wiring in your house to create a network. Power-line networking is based on the concept of "no new wires." The convenience is even more obvious because while not every room has a phone jack, you will always have an electrical outlet. Because it requires no new wiring, and the network adds no cost to your electric bill, power-line networking is the cheapest method of connecting computers etc in different rooms. The Powerline connection works by transmitting data through the electrical wires between the two adaptors so you will need at least two powerline plugs connected with one adaptor connected to your router and the other adaptor plugs into a power socket in a far room and your network signal is transmitted from the adaptor connected to the router to the other adaptor via your electrical wiring. Therefore this twin pack design is ideal for new users establishing their first PLC network or experienced users intent on expanding their networks.

Set up is hassle free and completed within minutes complete with 128-bit AES encryption for network security.

Why choose Sagemcom ? Sagemcom are the No.1 supplier of ADSL routers in the UK and supplied over 2.5 million routers to the UK in 2012.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
These homeplugs are well manufactured, clean looking i.e., white so they will match most colour schemes and look unobtrusive. They may well be OK for an AV Network system from scratch......however, my Husband tried for about 3-4 hours to integrate them into our existing network system (Devolo and TP Link) with no luck. These Sagemcom home plugs are rated @ 500mbps LAN and 300mbps Wi-fi.

Our existing system is 1 pair of Devolo dLAN 200 AV smart +, 1 pair of Devolo dLAN 200 AV smart, 1 TP Link TL-850RE and a TP link N600 Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ modem router.

Although my existing data transmssion is a MAX of 200bps, these plugs should work down to my plugs rated Output/Input.

We nearly have full house coverage of either LAN connected or Wi-Fi connected TV, Linux Satellite Receiver etc.
At this point, my Husband doesn't want to change the set-up.

He has pointed out that if you are starting from scratch, these Sagemcom AV plugs will probably do the job very well for you.

I love it! But took one Star off because of poor instructions and instruction which left me frustrated for a while.
I have tried a couple of wifi extenders for my home, but seem to have problems with them not reliably linking to my primary router and consequently my device thinking it has good signal (from the extender) but in reality no link with the internet.
With the Sagemcom F@st Plug Wifi Pack I got it set up very quickly (Quick Installation Guide not really required) - Plug A near my BT Fibre Optic router and connected with cable; Plug B plugged in a few rooms away. Turn on and yes, my tablet saw a new network SAGEMCOM_XXXX, good strength. (Hmmmm - was expecting my BT network to be stronger, not a new network name , but something new so must be working.) Now to connect - put in BT network password - failed! I had assumed it would use my BT network password......No! Looked on Sagemcom web-site but manual didn't go into much detail and no relevant frequently asked questions found.
I unplugged Plug B and brought it closer to the router, thinking I would WPS connect. (I may have done this, but I'm not confident that I did and/or needed to). Anyway, when I looked at the prong side of Plug B I spotted a label with the SSID and WPA. D'oh! I connected my tablet to the SAGEMCOM network with the WPA, and success! Good linkage.
Now to see if I could connect to my Sonos system (on the BT network)???? I was pessimistic, and assumed that the SAGEMCOM wifi network worked separately from my BT wifi network. But, my fears were unfounded! YES! It Does Work! (So whilst my tablet is connected to my SAGEMCOM wifi network, it is able to find and control my Sonos system which is on my BT network.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Sagecom F@st Pack WiFi Plus Powerline Adapter provides a quick and easy way to extend your wired network anywhere in the house, provided it is on the same electricity meter. However, unlike most other Powerline Adapters, the “remote” unit also provides a WiFi hotspot, which can significantly extend the range of your WiFi router. It also has two Ethernet ports for hard wiring other devices.
Setup is almost too easy; plug the “master” unit into a mains socket and connect it to your router using one of the two supplied cables. Then, plug the other into a mains socket close to the device(s) you want to connect to your network, and connect to the device(s) using either the second supplied cable, or WiFi. If you are making two wired connections to other devices, you will need an additional cable. Then, just get started; it works.
I am using a 75Mbps fibre connection, and the 200Mbps connection provided by these units is more than adequate to support my devices, including HDTV. My home WiFi coverage is very good, but doesn’t extend to my garage/workroom, which is at the end of the garden. Installing the “remote” unit there allowed me to connect my smartphone and tablet but, most importantly, my internet radio to keep me entertained while I’m working.
It isn’t recommended that these units should be used on an extension, which could be a bit of a pain if, like me, you are short of sockets. However, the “master” unit also incorporates a standard 3-pin socket, which overcomes that problem. There is no socket on the “remote” unit, but this is much less of an issue.
If I have an issue with this product, it is with the documentation. The supplied “Quickstart Guide” is in French and English and just about adequate.

I have used several different manufacurers Wifi extenders, (Devolo, BT, T-Link) and this does the same job.

It's simple to install - just plug it in and you are away - anyone can use it as it requires virtually no technical experitse. You have the choice of wired or wifi connection on the extender.

This marginally cheaper than some I have come across, so decent value, if a little "plastic"
