Product Description

The Nutri Juicer Pro: with Heavy Duty 1500W Motor

"Keeping juice cool is an important element in preserving nutrients."

To keep vitamins and nutrients intact, you need to juice quickly and evenly so you don't push heat and air into the cells. With a centred feed chute and less than 2 degrees of heat transfer, this juicer maximises the nutrition.

This juicer is made of premium stainless steel and die cast alloy for durability. Is also has variable speeds for juicing soft and hard fruits. The extra wide feed chute means you can juice bigger fruit and vegetables. Two discs means that you can juice soft and hard fruits and vegetables. The Nutri Disc has titanium reinforced cutting blades which are perfect for hard fruit and vegetables and the Froojie Disc and insert help to extract the maximum yield from soft ones like strawberries and bananas.

Heston's Tip: When it comes to nutrition, it is generally believed the fresher, and rawer the food, the better. While this is true for most fruits, it's not true for all. Lycopene for example, is found in most red fruits like tomatoes and red capsicums (yes they are both fruits!) and is said to reduce the risk of some cancers. Lycopene actually increases its ability to be absorbed in the body after being exposed to heat, especially in tomatoes.

So when it comes to juicing, experiment with as many fruits and vegetables as you can to maximise your nutrition. However, unless you’re making a Bloody Mary, try throwing the tomatoes in the saucepan instead!

The Ultimate Juicer

Variety is the spice of life. So when it comes to juicing, how do you get the best out of any fruit or vegetable?

This professionally inspired, full metal juicer has a 25% larger feed tube than other juicers to juice even bigger fruit and full variable speed to maximise juice from any type of fruit or vegetable. It also features a soft fruit disc to purée soft fruits like bananas, mangoes and berries for dessert coulis, or to mix with juice to make fresh fruit juice smoothies. With Sage's patented juicing system, it extracts more juice and nutrients from fruits and vegetables.

Keep the Nutrients

Sage's patented juicing system extracts more juice and transfers less than 1.5°C of heat to maximise nutrients, enzyme and vitamin yield in its natural form. The juicers extract up to 70% of the nutrition right into your glass.

Independent laboratories put our juicers to the test. They measured the nutrients your body needs - like Vitamin C, Potassium, Iron, and Vitamin B1 — before and after juicing apples, carrots, and celery.

The juicers transferred an average of 69.5% from produce to juice. That means you can take advantage of several servings of fresh vegetables quickly — all at once.

Extra Wide Feed Chute

Almost all Sage juicers are designed to juice whole fruit without chopping or slicing. Some juicers also have Sage's unique extra wide chutes that are another 25% larger (85 mm diameter) to accept even bigger fruit.

Micromesh Filter

A thinner mesh reduces the surface area between the fruit and the cup. These Italian made filter baskets have almost 40,000 tiny pores to help extract up to 30% more juice.

Froojie Disc

A soft fruit attachment purées bananas, mangoes and strawberries into a fine pulp. Perfect for making dessert coulis, or when mixed with fresh juice, creates 100% fresh fruit smoothies.

Variable Speed Control

Soft fruits extract more juice at lower speeds, while hard fruits extract more juice at higher speeds. The variable speed dial allows you to precisely control the juicing speed to get the most juice out of every fruit or vegetable.

External Pulp Ejection

All Sage juice extractors automatically eject the dry pulp into a collection basket while juicing. Most Sage juicers also have this pulp collection basket located externally for easy clean up and minimal down time when juicing many litres at a time.

Easy Clean Design

Smooth, rounded parts without food traps prevent pulp from sticking and make rinsing under the tap fast and simple. The easy clean models also come with a specially designed scrubbing brush to clean the filter mesh quickly and easily.

Sage believe that the only way to design the most innovative and useful kitchen appliances is to understand the food that they help you prepare. What better way to innovate and develop, than to collaborate with one of the world's most celebrated food thinkers - Heston Blumenthal.

After doing some extensive research on juicers, I decided to order the Sage Nutri Juicer Pro. I considered it a gift to myself and used part of my bonus this year to pay for it.

My experience:

Delivered the next day after ordering via the amazing Amazon Prime service, I opened the box and assembled the juicer. I am usually horrific at assembling anything and found assembling this very easy.

My first juice was an easy and basic apple juice with a slice of lemon - let me just say how amazing this was juice was. I dropped 2 small Fuji apples in with a slice of lemon with the peels still on into the machine and 'whoosh' - out comes the juice into the pitcher. I honestly don't know if I've ever tasted anything so good!

I ordered a juice recipe book at the same time as ordering this juicer and my husband and I spent a few days trying several delicious recipes - it's like a new and delicious hobby.

The reason for my rating:

Unfortunately on our 5th day of juicing, juice has started spraying out the top of the machine. Everything is locked down as it's supposed to be and it seems the seal has worn down or away or something. After it started spraying, it covered the wall and nearby appliances in juice. Not happy about this! After spending so much money on this machine and having such a wonderful initial experience, it's a shame that this has happened.

The juicer is sturdy - the variable 5 speed 1500W motor deals with anything, body is built of metal and looks to last. I did all my juicing for the day today in less than 3 minutes this morning (if you ignore the time to wash and prepare the veg/fruit). It was an ease to strip down and wash but on a recommendation I read somewhere to use freezer bags to line the pulp catcher...pull bag out at the end of juicing and throw in the bin - one less item to clean.

It juices everything with the exception of fruits with stones in and any fruit veg where you don't want to eat the peel. (ie mango, swede). I threw in 3 oranges (unpeeled and whole) as a test and it chewed them no problems...but next time I will peel them as it was quite bitter.

The next reason why I bought the Pro was it also has a soft fruit/smoothie grater which gives you the best of all worlds in one device. It looks huge on the pictures but its not much bigger than a decent size 4 toaster machine.

I'm not a promoter of the product just a normal user. I love it, would buy another tomorrow if I needed it.

I did a fair amount of research before buying. This one looked good from an engineering point of view, even went to a few stores to check the actual units. There were a few negative reviews but I decided to proceed with the purchase.

One of the better decision I have made. For my required use this unit is fantastic! Its quite expensive but if it lasts and it is good technology then I would consider it worth the price.

However I did want to answer some of the negative reviews for the benefit of others who might be considering purchasing. Everyone is entitled to their views of course but so am I!

First I am mostly a fruit person ( I mean that literally... no puns please! ), I intend to move to vegetables as well but I bought for fruit so my comments, at the moment, relate to this.

Rule number one for anything that contains raw fruit pith and bits. Wash up before you drink.... if you remove the bits immediately this unit will very likely last for a long time, if not you will constantly be trying to remove glued on bits of fruit... a long and thankless task even for a dishwasher. Also something very nice about sitting down to a drink with no cleaning up to do afterwards!

Use the included brush to clean the cutting and filtering metal gauze. It is imperative you clean this straight away otherwise efficiency will deteriorate very quickly.

Rinse everything first in cold water then wash in warm soapy water then rinse again in cold. As a result no dishwasher needed.... whatever they say dishwashers ruin the plastic bits. I have had several food processors that are testament to this.

If you don't like the bits in fruit juice, leave it in a glass or china jug in the fridge for a while and it will separate!

Why I bought it:
There are many juicers out there and I bought this juicer purely as it was the one used by Joe Cross from the documentary 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead' - if it works for him, then it should work for me!

First Impressions:
When I got it out of the box, I was impressed with the quality of the components, you can see why this juicer costs alot. Brushed aluminium abound, it looks good sitting on the kitchen side and I am sure the motor would last forever!

In use:
This thing juices fast! So fast, it oxygenates the juice and causes masses of froth - sometimes, that froth looks pretty manky and puts you off drinking the juice, however, the plastic jug that is provided with the juicer does have a lid that tries to hold back the worst of the froth.

I found that this juicer was not that great at juicing leafy greens - in fact, most of the time, i would put in lots of leafy greens and I felt it just cut it up and flung it out the back with only a dribble of juice to show for it. I tried this on all speed settings and was disappointed with the results.
However, for fruit, this was great at juicing. It juices whole apples, cucumbers, oranges etc without having to cut them up - just peel when required. For speed of juicing this thing cannot be beaten.

What is wrong with it:
The problem with this juicer is there are two tiny 'holes' near where the pulp collector joins the lid. No matter what advice
I followed: ensure basket was clean, don't use a plastic bag, try a slow setting - this thing would, after juicing a couple of items start spitting juice out of these two holes and cover the worktops in juice.
