I have used this scale for a few years and cannot do without it. When we have a lot of things to pack (at holidays etc.), we have to be careful about going over the bag weight limit. When we do not have a lot to pack and wish to travel with 1 or 2 bags, we have to weigh the packed bags to be sure that we stay under the bag weight limit. This scale enables us to weigh them conveniently. We used to use the bathroom scale at home, and when traveling we would use the fitness center scales, if available. But since we do not tend to stay at five-star hotels, we often don't have a fitness center or room scale. I wouldn't travel without it.

Waste of money 16 April 2008
Bought mine from John Lewis - should have opened the pack before buying because the dial was off by about 1/4 a kilo under, and there's no way to zero the needle. So either check item before you buy, or better still buy a digital one. Useless.

Waste of money
Bought mine from Gizoo - Ok to start with but the dial was off by about 2.5 kilo under, and there's no way to zero the needle. A digital one will not have this problem as zero is automatically set every time. Should have returned it but stripped it down to examine mechanism which is crude in engineering terms.LUGGAGE SCALE
