2.0 out of 5 stars Great movement sensor but..., 1 Oct 2006
By E. Savidge (UK) - See all my reviews

We had heard great reviews about this so purchased it. The movement sensor function was great and only went off when our daughter rolled right off it and was a very reassuring feature. However the interference has been a real problem with only 2 channels and a tendency to buzz near anything electrical, even the lights on the mains! We have used this monitor for 19 months and have now found that a loose connection in the wire to the parent unit means that we spend a good while wiggling it in order to even power the unit. We are now considering replacing it for further children which is disapointing based on our high expectations and the price tag.

4.0 out of 5 stars so reassuring, but can be buzzy, 29 Nov 2007
By Mr. A. J. Frost "adrianjfrost" (Sheffield, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
We bought ours about three years ago for our first born and it is still going strong for our second born.

It is without doubt the most reassuring thing we have bought for our babies, we can sleep soundly knowing all is well - especially when little one is poorly

We have never had a false alarm but I did have to make up perfect fit 9mm plywood base for both the cot and travel cot - that way baby can sleep right in the corner and it will still sense the breathing

The buzzing/interference has never been a big problem to us, it is a little annoying and does seem overly sensitive - but I am not sure what to. Our old house was small but it buzzed lots most of the time (worked fine and you could here baby cry) our new house is quite big with think walls and it works fine with very little buzz

Both units can be battery powered if you want, which can be handy, but strangely the buzzing didnt seem to get any better

We would not be without this type of monitor, three years ago there was little choice but (the then pricey)AngelCare, these days there are others and I might be tempted to look around for one that does not have a reputation for buzz.
