This wasn't a bad tale, but it wasn't romantic, or that hot, or all hearts. In fact, as it ended, I found myself asking 'is that it?'.

Yes, the blurb is pretty accurate, but the ex faded away as if the author had forgotten about him. The male lead chucked his job, but hey, all worked out fine. The female lead? She was happy to once again just accept money from another guy that she was in a relationship with - I got why she did it, and that she loved her animals, but I didn't get any feelings between them beyond sexual attraction, and a rather lukewarm one at that.

It didn't end in a HEA, but yes, in a HFN, so in my book, that doesn't really make it a 5* romance or a Keeper. This to me, was a 'lite' modern romance - I couldn't tell how their relationship would end up, as the passion wasn't that hot, nor were their feelings.

This is a fun tale, light and well written. There's nothing new or astonishing here but it is entertaining and I could see why it's popular when I read it. Not something I'll read again but it passed the time well enough and I doubt anyone would complain unless they were looking for something very different.

Nice introduction to the author (Shanna Germain), picked up as a free book. Story was good, moved along nicely (could have been fleshed out to a longer length novel but I felt nothing was missing from this novella length presentation). Emotions portrayed very well and the sex scenes were delightfully hot and steamy without veering off into unnecessary bouts of gratuitous sleaze. I will certainly look for more from this author.

Safe Haven had a great story about rescuing animals as the story line. The interaction between characters was presented by giving how each felt about the other. As a bonus the sex was hot and presented showing the respect the man and woman felt for each other and still enjoying hot steamy sex. I enjoyed this short novel and highly recommend it to other readers.

This is the first book I read by this author. I liked the puppy, some the dialogue, & the steamy scenes. I was happy Kaillie turned down her ex boyfriend offer to buy her farm. I was happy Darrin came up with an idea for Kaillie to save her farm. It was a nice book to read.
