Awesome. 28 May 2008
By William Hoffknecht - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The Parenthetical Girls are an amazing band that fills their songs with all sorts of sounds. I got the honour of running sound for them at a show a couple of years ago and get this CD when it was first released. If you like strange and experimental music, this is right up your alley.
Lyrically the songs are on par with the first album, dark and sad lyrics from a woman's point of view but sung by in a very timid male voice.
I do think this album surpasses the first one, (((GRRRLS))), in both musical and lyrical quality. But, if you buy the first album there are some cool Xiu Xiu remixes of the entire album in mp3 form hidden on the cd. It is very cool.

Gender folk 3 Jun 2007
By Raff D. Hall - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Like XIU XIU being tuneful, like Sufjan Stevens with gender issues, like Antony & the Johnsons being experimental. This is a great and wonderful album you should tell everyone about.
