The Safababy has been designed in accordance with the experts advice in keeping your baby in the feet to foot position which is believed to reduce the risk of cot death otherwise known as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS. The Feet-to-Foot position is the recommended sleeping position by midwives for babies. However there is a risk of baby wriggling free from the foot of the cot and becoming cold so the Safababy Sleeper has been designed to prevent this from happening. As it is fully adjustable, it can be positioned according to the size of the baby anywhere in the cot or cot-bed, creating a false foot and a snug environment for baby to sleep. The security strap, which fits underneath the mattress, ensures that blankets are held securely in place. As baby grows, the Safababy Sleeper is re-positioned further down the cot, allowing correct Feet-to-Foot positioning until baby can sit up unaided. I have used this item for both of my girls to enable them to sleep feet to foot position in a large cot without having the large gap at the top. It is fantastic and well worth the money and very easy to use.

This did the job however bit fiddly to fit really tight. Obviously you have to take it off everytime you change the cot sheets. However it does the job in terms of reducing the space your baby can move down the cot although we don't use it now (6.5 months) as our boy is moving all over the cot and quite frankly would probably manage to push it with his strong legs! For what it is and how long we used it I would say it's quite expensive however not sure there are many other considerations on the market.
This is a must have for any new mother. My baby hated his Moses basket and had to be put in the cot from the very start. This confines your baby to a small section of the cot and prevents them from moving around the cot too much or from wriggling under their blanket. Will use it again and again.
