This is the second Penny Birch book published by Xcite instead of Nexus, and while it's not as comprehensively filthy as some of her earlier work it does include some of the best spanking scenes she's ever written, which is saying something. I always like Amber Oakley books, especially the way she tries so hard to maintain her dominant pose but always seems to end up in trouble, and usually across somebody's knee. This works particularly well in Saddled Up, as Penny goes to a great deal of effort to build up the characters in such a way that the spanking and sex scenes are stronger and more effective than they would be otherwise. The book also contains several old favourites, including the scheming, lecherous Morris Rathwell and the terrifying harridan Hannah Riley, along with some delightful new creations clearly designed to bring Amber's embarrassment to the sort of exquisite peak only Penny Birch can achieve.
