I bought this CD last week and found the music to be beautiful, especially the Palestrina Lamentations. The chant was so fluid - not at all what you would expect. I'd recommend everyone to buy it - it's a must to everyone's early music collection.

I find this music uplifting, beautiful and transcending. It seems to both calm and energize at the same time.

For me, the best tracks are the Palestrina Mass, Missa veni sponsa Christi.

The same group have also recorded music by Cipriano de Rore Dangerous Graces Cipriano de Rore and Alessandro Grandi Grandi - Motets for Five Voices, both of which are also very good.

Format:Audio CD
This is not music simply to switch off and relax to, but is engaging and sung with musical integrity. The Lamentations in particular are a revelation, with the illuminated letters of Teth and Gimmel my personal highlight. It's refreshing to hear a choir of women singing with such clear passion and enjoyment. A must buy!
