An easy to use basic travel guide.,

Like all the Insight guides this one gives a very useful overview of the country, and makes it easy to ensure that you see everything that time permits. The fact file on hotels was a boon and I actually used the book to plan all my accomodation for the trip as well as day trips and treks. The entire guide is full of little things to make sure you get the most out of your trip: like which side of the plane to sit when flying cross country to get the best view of the mountain! Small enough to shove in my camera bag, I consider the cost of this book to be money well spent.

Insight Pocket Guides, Sabah Borneo, is a great book for the traveler who plans on going to Sabah. The author, Wendy Hutton put together a very compact travel guide with lots of useful information. One of the best parts of the book, is that it includes a very good map of Sabah with the different excursions and day trips highlighted. The traveler who likes to organize their trips in advance will like the ideas that are Ms. Hutton has given. It allows a person to see all aspects of Sabah and to get into the culture and history of the state. In the back of the book is several pages of practical information including places to stay. For the nature lover, the book is full of wonderful ideas to see the flora and fauna. Anyone traveling to Sabah should look at this book and some of the recomended by the author, especially on the history of the area.

I did not intend to order this pocket book. I ordered the Sabah Pocket book 2007 and when I went to look at the 1996 one, I realized it was way out of date. However the site put it down as ordering both,(why would I want two?) and when I completed the order it would not let me cancel out the 1996 version. I would like to return the 1996 version and will not be ordering from Amazon again if this does not happen
