A cracking book,

This review is from: DR SYLVER AND THE REPOSITORY OF THE PAST (Sylver Chronicles) (Paperback)
Paul's written another good book, the second book in the series takes a completely different track but I'd recommend reading book one first as it gives you a good background for this book, Paul has grasped subjects by the horns and made them easier to understand ijn this book. I throughly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be challenged.

Where are all the commas?,

This review is from: DR SYLVER AND THE REPOSITORY OF THE PAST (Sylver Chronicles) (Paperback)
I seem to constantly be groaning when I read this book. It is in serious need of a good editor. It's missing about 46 thousand commas and is full of mistakes. The author is inside the characters' heads constantly, laboriously putting his point across how each one of them feels at every single juncture. There is no flow; I want the book to just get on with it. I want some things to happen. But even after 80 pages I have nothing!
But the thing that annoys me the most about this book, is that there is something to it. There is something interesting going on, and I want to find out what it is. I admit, I bought this on a whim and haven't read the first book, perhaps that is why I am intrigued. But that fact that there is something good to it is the issue, because I can't discard it. I do honestly want to find out what's going on. However, I'm 25, and this book is for children. If I was a child I would have most certainly given up by this point. I don't blame the author, there is something good in this book, and I am intrigued by the characters. He just needs a bit of direction, that's all. Some help with the pace. There is no real urgency with this book. It's almost as if he's trying to stop me from reading it. If it was better written and properly edited then I would be very tempted to read the first and third book in the series. But as it stands, I'm surprised it even got published.
