4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not what i expected 30 Mar 2013

This is a great series and when i saw the chance to own it i pounced. but this collectors edition fell a little short on my expectations. It comes with 3 postcards with beautiful artwork on them, and book(obviously written in Japanese) and a display box with more great artwork, great so far.
Now the down falls, the cd that comes with this set only has 2 songs. the opening and closing to be exact. when it said sound track i expected 10-15 songs, granted most of them would probably be instrumental and that would have been wonderful, but that's not what you get.
And the blue ray itself is up next. features on this are: 3 fun news bulletins by one of the main charters Asuna, clean open and close songs and a commentary. Not bad, not bad, but the kicker! There is only 2 episodes. 2 that's it AND beware! NO subtitles. so for any of you who do not know enough Japanese to understand without subs not sure you'll want this.
Now I'm going to finish off with this, am I sorry i bought this? Nope. Its still good, I still like it. But am i sorry i paid $100+ for it with shipping, yeah little bit. feel a little ripped off. SO!Like I said this series is wonderful but now (hopefully) you've got an idea of what you'll be getting.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, not exactly what I had hoped for 9 Aug 2013

Bought this on sale for $50 as a gift-- Not an awful price, because it comes with some extra goodies & a book. All included items seem to be of good quality. Everything is in Japanese, of course-- so if you are expecting English language or subtitles this will not be a good choice for you.
Since it is a Region 2 DVD, it will play on our computers but not on other "American" devices, etc.

Set includes: 1 DVD , 1 CD, 1 softcover 'light' novel, 2 postcard-style prints (#1: Silica & Pina; #2: Kirito & Asuna), a booklet with the 'making of' details (has sketches), all in an illustrated slip-cover box

There are only 2 episodes-- Volume 1 does not mean "Season 1"-- this is the main reason it only gets 3 stars.

Everything was nicely packaged. Shipping from Japan took 2 full weeks-- that's actually not too bad for those unfamiliar with what can sometimes be lengthy delays for anime goodies.
