Packed with features, the slimline SVA-2008 offers multi-region playback, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, MP3 playback and more, all at an extremely attractive price. The DVD player can handle many different types of disc including DVD, VCD, SVCD, CDDA, CVD, CD-DVD, Mini-DVD as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs containing MP3 audio files.
On the front of the SVA D-2008 you have all the standard playback. While around the back you'll find all the standard outputs for video and audio including SCART, S-Video, Component, Coaxial, optical and Dolby 5.1 outputs. When connecting the DVD player's component video output to a compatible television, you'll get better image quality with lifelike colours and crisp details. For those without a component video compatible TV, you will still get a great picture thanks to the 10-bit 27 Mhz D/A video converter. This is four times more accurate than the conventional 8-bit converters, resulting in an artefact-free and crystal clear video image.
The SVA D-2008 will keep audio fanatics entertained with its plethora of sound options and audio outputs. The player features a high quality 96 kHz/24-bit Audio D/A converter for superior audio reproduction of encoded discs. Add to this Dolby Digital and DTS support, coaxial digital audio outputs and the ability to downmix audio. For those without a home cinema setup, the SVA D2008 also includes a virtual surround sound mode through the external analogue output sockets on the back of the player.
One impressive feature is automatic television conversion of NTSC/PAL discs. Basically, what this means is that if you play an NTSC disc on a PAL only TV, you'll get a good colour picture, meaning you don't need an NTSC compatible television in order to play discs from another country. Add to this, a full-function remote control, variable zoom and forward/reverse scan options and you've got yourself a DVD player that offers more than most of its competitors costing twice as much.
